Publications

The exhibition was accompanied by a two-volume publication, consisting of an exhibition catalogue and an edition of selected art critical texts by Will Grohmann. The catalogue also tells some of the stories behind the paintings, informs about Grohmann’s personal relationships to the artists and their works, and traces the works’ often complicated provenances, which are often revealed for the first time.

The catalogue and the volume of texts are based on extensive recent research undertaken by scholars at the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden in collaboration with external experts during a long-term research project. Both volumes appear at Hirmer-Verlag.
