About the Exhibition

The art writer and critic Will Grohmann (1887–1968) played a decisive role in shaping our perception of the art of the 20th century.

On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of his birth, Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden presented an extensive exhibition of key works of modernism that are closely linked to Grohmann. The exhibition was shown from 27 September 2012 to 6 January 2013 in the Kunsthalle im Lipsiusbau. Grohmann’s decades-long committed work, mediating between artists, gallerists, collectors, museums, and the general public could be experienced through the works of arts and especially designed media installations.
